One dirty, dirty, filthy little magazine…
Yup, in case you haven’t worked it out yet, we’re all about trail running in the Southern Hemisphere. And this is just the beginning. Consider this a notice of intention, if you will. Essentially this blog site is a grassroots, temporary home for what will be the best source of inspiration and information for trail blazers across Australia and New Zealand.
You want to know who’s running up what mountain, who’s winning which extreme event, what’s the best short trail run just outside your town, what supplement will see you through that 100 kay killer, how to set up a training plan for the 4 Deserts you reckon you’ll conquer next year, and what’s the best pair of runners to tackle the TNF100?
You’ll want to subscribe to Trail Run magazine then…
We’re going to start off with our feet in the grassroots. That’s because we’re no multi-national, nor national media empire. We’re just a few guys with day jobs who love running wild and reckon there’s a need for some inspirational media focused solely (no pun) on trail running.
We’re not reinventing the wheel here, either – there are some great trail running mags overseas – Trail Runner (US), Trail Running (UK), Ultra Runner (US) and even a local snapshot in UltraMag, produced by AURA. All great slices of the trail running life.
We just reckon there’s more to offer. So welcome to Trail Run (Aus & NZ) magazine.
We’re going to mix it up on the finest, roughest, dare I say raddest (I’m a child of the 80s) trails on offer south of the equator (with the odd peering up north – when us Antipodeans head to far flung trails to test the best of the rest).
We’re looking to a first edition launch on June 31, 2011. Check the MAGAZINE page for the first upload. We’re talking online only at this stage (like I said, we’re no Rupert Murdochs here, who can afford all that paper? We’d prefer to run around the trees, anyway, not read them).
Then go wild, get dirty.
